Blue Waters Dog Rescue
Fighting for the underdog through rescue, rehabilitation, and healing partnerships
We are Blue Water Dog Rescue, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) volunteer-based organization dedicated to rescuing large dogs, especially misunderstood breeds like bully breeds.
Our rescue operates through a unique partnership, connecting dogs with fosters and volunteers recovering from drug and alcohol addiction. Working alongside sober living houses across South Florida, we create strong bonds where both dogs and people support each other's healing journeys.
This relationship is a two-way street. Many of our volunteers have struggled with self-care in the past, but by caring for dogs who need love, patience, and discipline, they discover renewed purpose and self-esteem. At the same time, the dogs - often coming from backgrounds of abuse and neglect - serve a therapeutic role for their caretakers.
While in our foster care, our dogs receive love, safe housing, and full veterinary care, including spay/neutering and behavioral training. We do this to prepare them for successful, loving forever homes.
Since 2015, we have focused on rescuing and rehabilitating abandoned and surrendered dogs from the South Florida area. With the region facing an unprecedented demand for animal rescue services, we are committed to meeting this critical need.
Our mission is to fight for the underdog - because both the dogs we save and the people we work with know what it means to overcome adversity and find hope through mutual care.
