Plantation Heritage Park

Plantation Heritage Park is a scenic 88.5-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County regional park tucked along Fig Tree Lane in Plantation. Celebrated for its lush rare tropical fruit groves, historic agricultural roots, and a shimmering 25-acre central lake, the park welcomes dogs on a six-foot non-retractable leash along its paved lakeside walking, jogging, and biking trail and expansive shaded Bermuda grass lawns.

As handlers and their leashed dogs circle the one-and-a-quarter-mile lakeside loop, they enjoy abundant shade from mature oak, royal palm, and fruit trees, along with covered picnic shelters, lakeside benches, drinking water fountains, pet-waste bag dispensers, public restrooms, and free parking lots. The park also features fishing docks, horseshoe pits, outdoor fitness stations, and two shaded playgrounds.

Plantation Heritage Park operates daily from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM during spring and summer and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during fall and winter. Admission is free Monday through Friday, while weekends and county-observed holidays carry a regular gate entrance fee of $3 per vehicle for up to eight occupants. All visiting dogs must remain on a non-retractable six-foot leash at all times, wear current rabies vaccination tags, and stay out of the lake and designated nature trails. Strolling past fragrant tropical fruit groves and around the shimmering central lake makes this Plantation park one of the most scenic on-leash walks in Broward.
