Tradewinds Park & Stables
Expansive 626.7-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County regional park in Coconut Creek featuring miles of paved lakeside and wooded trails.
About
Tradewinds Park & Stables is a massive 626.7-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County regional park straddling Sample Road in Coconut Creek. Divided into north and south park sections, this sprawling pastoral landscape welcomes dogs on a six-foot non-retractable leash across miles of paved multi-use walking, jogging, and biking trails, open Bermuda grass meadows, and shaded lakeside picnic groves.
Throughout both sides of the park, dog walkers have access to dozens of covered picnic shelters, waterfront benches, drinking water fountains, pet-waste bag dispensers, public restrooms, and large free parking lots. The park is also famous for its equestrian stables and trail rides, an 18-hole disc golf course, fishing lakes, athletic fields, model steam train rides, and Butterfly World on the south side.
Tradewinds Park & Stables operates daily from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM during spring and summer and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during fall and winter. Weekday admission is free, while weekends and county-observed holidays carry a regular gate fee of $3 per vehicle for up to eight occupants. Dogs must stay on a non-retractable six-foot leash at all times, wear current rabies vaccination tags, yield to horses near equestrian trails, and are not permitted inside Butterfly World or the educational farm. Miles of scenic paved trails winding past lakes, open pastures, and shaded picnic groves give active dogs and handlers a true country-style outing.
