Easterlin Park

Easterlin Park is a 46.6-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County regional park and Designated Urban Wilderness Area tucked away in Oakland Park just west of Interstate 95. Famous for its tranquil stand of 250-year-old, 100-foot-tall bald cypress trees and native tropical hammock, this peaceful refuge welcomes dogs on a six-foot non-retractable leash along its shaded park roads, lakeside paths, picnic groves, and full-hookup campground.

Under the dense cypress and oak canopy, visitors and their leashed dogs enjoy cool shade even on warm afternoons, along with covered picnic shelters, tables, grills, drinking water fountains, pet-waste bag dispensers, public restrooms, and free parking lots. The park also features a scenic freshwater lake, an 18-hole disc golf course, basketball and volleyball courts, horseshoes, and a shaded playground.

Easterlin Park is open seven days a week from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM during spring and summer and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during fall and winter. Weekday admission is completely free, while weekends and county-observed holidays carry a gate fee of $3 per vehicle for up to eight occupants. All dogs must remain on a non-retractable six-foot leash at all times, wear current rabies vaccination tags, and stay out of designated natural preserve trails where pets are restricted. Walking beneath the towering centuries-old cypress canopy offers a cool, tranquil forest experience rarely found in the middle of an urban county.
