T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park
One-hundred-thirty-eight-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County park in Hollywood with a two-mile paved lakeside walking trail and oak shade.
About
T.Y. (Topeekeegee Yugnee) Park is a beloved 138.6-acre on-leash dog-friendly Broward County regional park located just west of Interstate 95 in Hollywood. Taking its name from a Seminole phrase meaning meeting or gathering place, this heavily shaded oasis welcomes dogs on a six-foot non-retractable leash along its popular two-mile paved walking, jogging, and biking trail looping around a scenic 32-acre central lagoon.
Canopied by hundreds of mature oak and royal poinciana trees, the park provides cool shade for daily dog walks alongside covered picnic shelters, waterfront benches, an outdoor fitness zone, drinking water fountains, pet-waste bag stations, public restrooms, a full-hookup RV and tent campground, and generous paved parking. The park also houses Castaway Island water park, tennis and basketball courts, and shaded playgrounds.
T.Y. Park operates daily from 8:00 AM to 7:30 PM during spring and summer and from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM during fall and winter. Weekday admission is completely free, while weekends and county-observed holidays carry a regular gate entrance fee of $3 per vehicle for up to eight occupants. All dogs must remain on a non-retractable six-foot leash at all times, wear current rabies vaccination tags, and stay out of the lagoon and water park. The two-mile paved lagoon loop beneath towering oak and royal poinciana trees is widely regarded as one of the best shaded dog-walking trails in Hollywood.
